Intersection of Riggs, Hawes roads closed for construction June 2-6

The intersection of Riggs Road and Hawes Road will be closed in all directions for road construction work from 12:01 a.m., Thursday, June 2, to 5 a.m., Monday, June 6, according to a press release from the Maricopa County Department of Transportation. The four-day closure will allow the contractors to install three storm drains what will help effectively move water during rain events, according to a press release from the town of Queen Creek.

The following roads will be open to local traffic only:

Hawes Road between Empire Boulevard and Chandler Heights Road.
Riggs Road between Sossaman Road and Ellsworth Road.

MCDOT: Sossaman at Elliot to close for roadwork Oct. 23-26

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation is installing new traffic signals, left turn lanes and widening the intersection of Elliot and Sossaman roads to improve traffic flow and safety.

As part of the construction, Sossaman Road will be closed at Elliot Road from 5 a.m., Friday, Oct. 23, to 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26.

Northbound and southbound traffic on Sossaman Road will not be permitted to cross Elliot Road. Eastbound and westbound Elliot Road will remain open.

MCDOT officials ask drivers to obey traffic control signs and to allow extra time to get where they are going as there may be traffic delays.
