Eighteen local middle and high school students were recognized by the Queen Creek Town Council at the May 18 Star Students ceremony.

The town’s Star Students program recognizes students who are helpful and considerate of others while demonstrating good citizenship. Teachers at participating schools nominate students to be recognized during the ceremony.

The town council honored the following students:

•Benjamin Franklin High School: Tanner Jacobson, Leah LaMont and Jesse Thatcher.

•Casteel High School: Cooper J. Christensen and Alexandra Hernandez.

•Heritage Academy Gateway: Paige Galloway, Jaycee Graffius, John Martinez and Bradley Matheson.
