Queen Creek dentist to buy back Halloween candy, send it to troops

Affinity Dental in Queen Creek will host a Halloween Candy Buy Back event 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Individuals who would like to trade in his or her unopened Halloween candy will receive $1 for every pound of candy he or she donates. They also will have the option to be entered into drawings for various prizes and giveaways that will handed out throughout the event.

The candy will then be donated to Operation Gratitude where it is included in holiday baskets that are sent to U.S. troops overseas, according to a press release.

Operation Gratitude is an organization that was started in 2003 to send care packages to U.S. troops overseas of the things that the troops missed from home. Today, the organization sends out more than 150,000 care packages a year to U.S. troops stationed in spots all over the world.

Affinity Dental is at 21321 E. Ocotillo Road Suite No. 130, on the southeast corner of Ocotillo and Rittenhouse roads. The event will include food trucks from Waffle Love and Carh’s Kitchen that will be available throughout the event.

“Our office looks forward to this Halloween event every year,” said Dr. Kelly B. Wettstein of Affinity Dental. “We live and work in Queen Creek and want to offer ways of giving back to our community.”
